The term “Western Values” is used too liberally nowadays, and often in a condescending tone, to the detriment of both the maintenance of what those values actually are, and the spread of those values throughout the world. At best it oversimplifies and misattributes a set of ideals — liberal ideals — which western values are a subset of, like Pilgrims is a subset Puritans.
